ABOUT ANNE HIER

Anne M. Hier, JD, MFA is an award-winning artist. She received her first animal portrait commission when she was sixteen years old. Hier earned both her BFA and  MFA in Studio Art – Painting at Michigan State University. She also graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a concentration in International Law.

Hier's articles and illustrations have appeared in various dog publications since 1977. She was previously employed at the American Kennel Club where she created original print and multi-media educational materials for dog show judges. She is also the author of Dog Shows Then and Now: An Annotated Anthology.

Hier has owned and exhibited Bulldogs and French Bulldogs in conformation and obedience for over thirty-seven years. She is also an approved dog show judge.
